Selma officer arrested

A Selma Police Officer, who was nearing the end of his probationary period, has been arrested and charged with driving under the influence while off duty early Saturday morning.
According to a department press release, Officer Christopher Michael Jacobs, 31, who has been employed with the department less than a year, was involved in a 2-vehicle accident on Citizens Parkway at Woodrow Avenue.
“There weren’t any injuries,” Selma Chief of Police William T. Riley said. “Upon investigating the traffic accident, officers discovered [Jacobs] to be under the influence of alcohol.
